I for one think (and hope) that this would mean better things for anime and not worse. How many times has an American dub been butchered? Let's take Sailor Moon.. gender changes, "cousins", huge cuts, etc. I don't think a Japanese release would do that.

As for the all important question, I don't know if I'm understanding correctly but I'll try. About piracy: The Japanese seem to be much more lenient about this. Sanrio and San-X battle it out constantly over here with who will have the new ultimate cute character. When one comes out with a better one, the other usually copies in it some way. All the while, the less popular companies copy both of them and no one bats an eye. Right now san-X has out "monokuro boo" a blank and a white pig. I've seen all kinds of "monocolor panda" and other things that would have people in America running for the courthouse, but here it's just OK.

Hopefully it's not just wishful thinking, but I think it could be a positive thing for anime!

I personally don't even see the reason for censoring language. I just find it odd that groupings of sounds can be construed as inappropriate. They're means of expression and why we take them to be inappropriate for younger, and in certain situations, older ears is beyond me.

I think what should really be considered is the context and the direction rather than the word. If we are to censor something, then lets censor malicious attacks on another person, not the casual vulgarity that has developed into slang.

Note: For those who find this position odd for me considering I don't swear, I don't. If words weren't so censored and considered inappropriate, I would use them as casual language. My other motivation for not is so that at the appropriate time, I can use them and they can have the impact that I want. Overusing them would diminish their value which is higher due to their unexpected and unusual use.

Hammy out.
Since the last post is so old, I will just start with this.

What an amazing world we live in.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
yeah it's amazing but old news.

Nintendo's next handheld will sport a non-glasses 3D screen

I've heard it only works if you view it exactly straight on though.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Old news or not, we are living in an amazing time.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
Why? Because some company slapped some 5+ year old hardware together in a handheld and put a bunch of pointless apps behind another gimicky screen?

Think about what you just said. They just slapped some 5 year old technology together (magically being able to see something that does not exist) into a handheld (what used to be the equivalent of a skyscrapers worth of technology) and some pointless apps (what used to take months to program but due to advances in programming languages takes days) behind a gimicky (what used to be a foot long but is now paper thin) screen. We live in AMAZING times.

If you actually read what that thing has sans the 3d screen, you'd already know that a lot of the network apps on this thing have been around for quite some time now. And as for the specs of the hardware, it's hardly state of the art. It's just that the costs have come down enough to develop and produce that thing marketing to middle and low income consuers and still net a profit. Hell, wikipedia says that it's more advanced then the wii, but that isn't saying much at all since the hardware to that overpriced piece of machinery is almost identical to the gamecube which was released in '02 for $50 cheaper at launch.

Sorry for the double post, but my phone that i'm posting through was about to die. The plain and simple fact is that i'm not impressed with toys and gadgets when it comes to advancement. That is mainly because there are bigger and better things that we could be doing if we as a people weren't a bunch of bickering children in the first place. We put so much energy into either entertaining ourselves or going to war that we as a people haven't advanced one damn bit. And when we do start with something like curing some disease, people start to #$%$@#!!. So no, i'm not so earily impressed with a 3d e-book functional ds when we could start colonizing space, for instance.

I am not simply referring to the 3DS. Think about the technology we have around us. We can make things invisible now, we can cure diseases that, at one time, we though were curses. And yes, ANY machine that size that can bring into existence something that does not exist, even if only on a screen, is in the best words, magic. That includes calculators.

I'm sure people said the same thing when the horseless carage was introduced. It all looks fine and dandy when you look back at the fruits of progress so far. And it will look the same from the persective from almost any time period. (aquaducts? Amazing!) But that isn't my point at all. I'm far more concerned about where we are going and what i will see within my lifetime. And i'm not too happy with the trend i see so far.

No one is. We are destroying our planet and sucking up every natural resource, but it is one hell of a ride.

Where can I submit an application so I can write some small articles for the moonagram?

Magus: You may think that entertainment is not that important when it comes to technology and the grand scheme of things but it's one of the main drivers in consumer grade computer advancement.
The fringe gamer performance freaks constantly demand higher performance products to run games that constantly demand faster, higher performing computers. Eventually, these higher performing computer components fall in price to the point where everyone else can afford them.
I'm exhausted so my argument may be fuzzy right now, however as price points fall on smaller, higher performing technology all kinds of industries benefit, from hospitals to our electrical grid, to remote applications like monitoring massive agricultural plots, looking for trends in earthquakes and tornadoes and hurricanes... etc...
It's not all fun and games even though fun and games may be a main driver.
Things may not be going the way you want them to but that's due to human factors such as a loss of morality in business and government... political BS... a loss in decency across the board as people become more greedy and less willing to work to make ends meet. There are jobs on the farms and roadsides that americans can do but so many choose not to... and before you say that illegal immigrants hog all of those jobs, employers would much rather hire a legal worker than an illegal due to the risk of ICE raids.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Hey, not to beat a dead horse. I know it has been like 5 or 6 months since she left. But the dreams about her have been getting weirder and weirder. Anyone have a cure?

Silly question I know.

When you are with someone for close to 10 years it can be hard to purge your thoughts but this is getting ridiculous.

nope no answer, since I was very young I've had dreams of war and death and gore in graphic form.

You get used to them and learn to handle the nightmares... or you go insane...

What do you guys think of this whole situation?
http://www.cnn.com/2013/10/22/us/spongebob-gravestone-controversy/

On one hand it is a family showing their love towards their lost kid. However, could this be construed as disrespect towards the other visitors grieving their dearly departed?
