When you donate it post a PHP error. I assumed this was the automatic gold/silver script. But I have been known to be wrong. :P
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
There's no automatic script for the gold/silver teams. When a donation is made, the user is added manually. Or, at least that's how it used to be when the site was active.

I can't speak for Scot, but for my part, donations are really pretty unnecessary. My hosting costs associated with sm.org are very very small. The bandwidth usage is minimal.

I appreciate the thought, though. :)

I clicked some random FAQs and they seem to work for me.
Yeah, they seem to be working fine for me.

Seems to work fine for me. Make sure your ad-blocker is not knocking out the frame. :P

I do recall when I was running an instance of my own Crescent, sometimes it would apparently break *for no reason*.

Now after sitting in a proverbial box I know you already had to fix an error or more (I AM betting on more, they tend to gang up). Just to get this far.

Anyways, enough with the anecdotals, I need to get the info to the experts before you ID badge shocks you:

You cannot post with apostrophes. I believe I made the mistake of doing so without thinking about it already. I will copy/paste the error, and this post into notepad come to think of it because I cannot have two things in clipboard when I hit the pretty button. This only has to deal with posting.

Secondly, the "Info for file n" and "Remove from Favorites" imagese are broken both in the Favourites sidebar and on ALL of the finder directory pages. These words take up more room than the icon that leads to said bookmarked item.

Third, in Topics: the Style, Post button, and Allowed Tags are on the same "line" as the post box, not below it. The first thing below it is "Please use valid XHTML..."

Running Windows 7 Ultimate

Now to run before I get a "Why the smeg are you still using IE" sermon...

Which happens to be why we are exploring the ruins and nostalgia-ing and partying in Central. I'd watch where I step though, I heard there be snails a-lurking.

You also just used MY old trick of editing them in afterwards :P. I thought there was a bug but I edited it afterwards. Scot then discovered that using the edit feature to 'get around' something he wanted WAS a bug... I told him about the wrong one XD good times.

setting magic_quotes_gpc in php.ini did not fix it. that was my first thought.

The images not working is because of a faulty img tag referral. Viewing source, it's linking to, for instance, /icons/plus.png when it should be linking to scheme_url/icons/plus.png. So rather than pulling the image from the schemes, it's trying to pull it directly from the sailormoon.org site.

Not quite sure how to fix that, but that's why some of the images aren't working.

See? I checked using my scheme, and the index file at the source has working images (Cherry Dreams), but using the scheme here, the images are broken, as they are with all schemes.

It may not even be a big deal for anyone; it certainly doesn't bother me that much, but MBH brought the broken images up so I checked into it as well as I could.

Good news everyone!

Scot and I have been e-mailing back and forth a little bit to sort out how spruce up the site a little bit.

In his words, right now the goal is:
"make it work, preserve nostalgia."

With that in mind, let's form a little spring cleaning team to sweep up all the dust bunnies and shake out the bit rot.

A number of you have volunteered to help out, so I'm thinking I'll create a topic and a team for us to discuss the internal workings of how to get things cleaned up ... This team will be made up of developers and advisors.

Scot says he can't give us a lot of help other than to be a disinterested benevolent dictator, but I think we can do alright with fixing things up on our own without bothering him too much.

I just need to get into the server and see what things look like, and then we can move forward from there! :)
Thanks to whoever fixed the borked image links. <3 Looks a lot nicer now, even though it's not a major fix. :D

Hey it looks like the info and add to favorites links have been fixed. *_* I didn't do that.
Well if you didn't do it, I guess I can thank Scot. ♥

I can shoot some help here and there. I check in just about every day anyhow.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I suppose that I would fall more under an advisor than a developer/programmer if I were to help.

- I did run my own instance of crescent back in the day for a year or so.
- I learned to minorly tweak existing code but not simply write things out of thin air.
- Scot does trust me, I was a the backup to the backups when we were hosted on multiple servers and as far as development goes, when he made some changes on indievisible, at one point he made me a 255 just so I could play around (but not break anything).

If you think that I would be more baggage than help, I understand. But I am also generaly observant and "quick on the uptake".

Oh! And I know mySQL! I studied it in high school. I might be a bit rusty but if I look more complicated things up, I can take care of database things from the back end.

I found a nice bug. There is no directory protection, might be as simple as a htaccess file.

I can:

sailormoon.org/images

Then back track to the root directory and download the entire site including images.

I will continue with security testing with permission of course.

As a temporary work around, you can type your post without any apostrophes initially and then edit the post and put them in. The system will allow that for whatever reason. That's what I've been doing for now.
signature image Hello, sweetie!
Also, if you put a backslash in front of the apostrophe, you can get it in without having to edit.

Well, I was going to show you how to type it out, but it won't let me post the backslash. To clarify, though, it's the one between Backspace and Enter, not the one on the question mark key. (In case anyone can't keep slash and backslash straight in their minds. ^_^)

Sorry guys I've been absolutely swamped at the office this week. I promise this weekend I'll have a sit down and see if we can't hammer out a plan to get some of these more obvious issue fixed!
the info/fav images was a problem related to running no-module. CRESCENT_SCHEME wasnt set when the image paths were being configured. I just moved the configuration down a tiny bit -- there was a actually a note in the code about it needing to be done.

I poked about trying to figure out the apostrophe problem. PHP changed something and I dont know what. The infrastructure to compensate is all there, just need to figure out what needs tweaking and make the necessary adjustments.

Im not too concerned with people traversing the directories. Ill probably just turn off indexes and call it good.

Ive added a few systems to the IM list. If you have suggestions for more, Ill put MBH in charge of gathering that data; Cosmos or MBH can put them into the system.

cfs-php/handlers/topic.php:221

//don't add slashes
$post = trim(crescent_clean_user_input($_REQUEST['post'],'passtags',false));

Third param of crescent_clean_user_input is $addslashes. Well there's your problem. :)

Is it possible there was a plugin that was hooking into 'inputcleaning' to do the slash managing goodness?
I've created a separate folder with a team, faq and topic to track our "spring cleaning" efforts. Folks should still report any bugs they discover here, but I want to move discussion around how to prioritize and fix bugs into it's own topic so we don't mix everything together.

Spring Cleaning

I've already invited folks who seemed to express interest in the effort, but if I missed you, please post in here and we'll see about getting you added to the effort!
I can't code worth crap, but I have been dual-wielding Chibimoon and Mercury goodness in the absense of a dedicated Mercury senshi. If you have any file issues in the Moon Kingdom, etc., I'll be glad to help if needed.
signature image Hello, sweetie!
Joined spring cleaning team but do not have permission to access the link provided.rrAdditionally, search does not seem to work.

Also, in the edit window it's adding returns (r) instead of using actual new lines when redisplaying the post for edit.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.
signature image
my HTML backslash '& #92;' disappeared post edit.rAlso looks like it added 'r's where the newlines were supposed to be in the original post.

even in new posts like this one it adds the r instead of a newline.

huh but it preserved the newline here, something odd going on...
gotta check on the post sanitizer code for this I think.

People wish Henshin brooch or higher should have read access to everything. :-/

That's weird.
firebornx : Can you try again? Cloudy was able to access the folder and post in the topic without issue.

Alternatively, you should be able to access the folder from inside the folder this topic is residing in. (System development.)
Just as a thought, as firebornx is the only member who isnt official staff, could it be file permissions in a parent directory being passed down via recursive/sticky permissions?

ONE AT A TIME!
Maybe the reason Cloudy was able to access things before anyone else is because he's on the Mercury team with automatic admin access to everything. Just a thought.

As far as I can tell, I haven't had any issues accessing the files after I accepted the team invitation, though, and I don't have Mercury team access, so I don't know.
"Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink."

There aren't any permissions on the topic set specifically for Mercury team, so that shouldn't be the reason.
signature image Hello, sweetie!
yeah, built in mercury permissions only attach to certain file types, its unfortunately not a built-in mechanism to the system ¬_¬ yet... lol. We could promote fireborn to senshi temporarily to test whether he then has access or not perhaps? just throwing out ideas

firebornx  Please confirm that you can't access the folder, topic and FAQ, first. :)
Nope still permission denied. No read access

signature image
Please try now. I've temporarily set your level to Senshi.

Edit: I apparently can't post <span class="username" /> in new posts when expert mode is off. I'm getting an invalid xml error.
New User Signup would have worked mostly except for two reasons...

The first is that, by default, php.ini is no longer distributed with $_COOKIE included in $_REQUEST, so the session variable was inaccessible.

The second problem was when the script went to insert the new user into UserInfo, at which point it bombed because the insert statement was missing the (newish) TzID column, which I've added and defaulted to "1" for all new users.
I was really slow at work today, so I was able to finish a complete sweep of the Moon Kingdom. There were quite a few files that had Mercury admin permissions twice and three times, but I am unable to remove the extras. There were also quite a few without any Mercury admin permissions at all. The majority of the files are owned by Jen; I'm pretty sure they just reverted to her when the original owners' accounts were deleted, so that process may have something to do with it. I tried taking ownership of one of the files to see if that would let me remove the duplicates, but it did not. For the sake of this post not being a mile long, I've listed all the files in the Dust Bunny List.

There were also a fair amount of duplicate guest read permissions set that I took care of, but I'm unsure at this point if that was due to an actual bug or not.

I know it's extremely low priority at the moment, but the bug may duplicate permissions on future user-created items as well. It honestly shouldn't matter; being OCD, I had to report it anyway. xD
