Alright. I have the first alpha video of a little work I dumped into getting the sprites right.

I just ripped a sprite set from another story, upped its size and retouched it to look a little better. Three hours of messing around later and it does not look to horrid.

I am going to keep a record here. Anyone that is interested in helping write the story line for this thing please chime in. I also need sprites converted and images made.

No coding necessary and I will be more than happy to setup a svn.

Well, I guess to try and help get your ball rolling, I'll raise my hand for a writer position. I will say ahead of time that I'm going to be a tad busy over the next couple of weeks, though.

But if given the position, I'd like to know what you have in mind in general. The reason why I ask is because I don't know everything about the materials you have to work with nor the resources you're trying to pull to get more. Things such as sprite sets and maps, for example, would have to be taken into account and I wouldn't want to come up with something that you don't have the materials for or have you go out of the way for such deviations.

Are you planning on using new characters or just plan on rehashing all of the old ones? How involved would I be? I'm I there to pitch ideas, collaborate and write a few scenes here and there, or write the whole thing? What kind of story do you want and what direction do you want it to go? These are questions that I'd like to ask.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
I have an idea of the direction. I have all the original characters. But I am using an old technique of slight mods to the characters to make new ones. I have an idea for a start but I am open to any amount of work.

If you want to write the whole thing, great, if you want to pitch ideas, cool. It is just fun little thing that is all.

If I had the points I would start a private team forum. Story-lines are too easily swiped by googlers. But I am going to do a split from the story line in stars where prince endymion is two people. I thought they had a good thing going then they merged him back together. I want to keep him split and work from there. I would love to collaborate.

This is nothing serious and ALL credit will be given to the respective people who put time into it. This will be free to the public and at no point will I attempt to make a profit from it. I just always wanted to make a tangent from the story line in Sailor Moon. So this is me screwing around a bit.

The one thing I am going for is content. I want to make this game a LONG one. In honor of the great programmers of ol', back when they knew how to make a game. If anyone wants to donate the points I will make a private writing forum.

Hopefully tonight or tomorrow I will have a video up demoing the follow script I am dropping in for Luna and Luna-P.

If we can lay out chapter 1 I can get started on a cut scene. Feel free to draw out something crude on paint or something if you have an idea for a cut-scene or something you want to see.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I am restricting development to SailorMoon.org members. I am going to make this a SailorMoon.org exclusive.

Maybe I can get Scott to put a link on the front page if we do a good job.

I wouldn't limit it to this community...

you're excluding many other people who have time to help you and have a greater skillset on such things.

post up on random active anime forums and see if you get any hits.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

Nah, I am not looking to make this a huge project or anything. I am just messing around and really am just interested in limiting the team to people I know and trust. The active members here are on the trusted list for knowing both Sailor Moon and obviously sticking around.

@Magnus - I need a place to start with the storyline. It is -05:00 11:43 PM here. I have work from 8-5 weekdays but will be working on this at night.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
We can TinyChat or something, up to you guys. If I can get a layout for Chapter 1 we can get a basic layout for the maps going. I would like to get the beginning and end of the story started, that way we can add mini spoilers.

Just FYI I went to college for media arts and won an award for my storyboard theories. So I definitely have a good background for getting the base laid for this game, I am just horrid with the actual content part. Programming and the layout I am very familiar with.

I work 7pm-7am shifts and am posting on my cell from the crapper right now. I need a little time to get into the swing of things first. I'm off wednesdays through fridays and every other saturday. I also have a few ideas on how to start off, but i need to refresh on stars and put together a few drafts.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
Same here. I just got back to watching Stars again for a refresher myself. I want to break off right at the beginning, but still end with the same result I think. Dunno. But this is all ethereal, and anything can change. That sir, is a heluuva shift by the way.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
What if, what if instead the game was based around another character, someone in the background of stars during all the events that happened and instead you run into / work with, Sailor Moon in parts of the game.

I have never seen an approach like that done in a Sailor Moon game.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
Ok, got cut-scenes working and a ring system implemented. Do you like it? Is a ring system appropriate?

I am looking for a simple online collaboration system so I do not have to create a private forum. Any ideas?

Great! Welcome the newest team member Ubentobox. He is an old friend who is doing the graphics. He is good and he is fast! He just created all the characters, Luna and Artemis.

Alright, it is not perfect but I have a lighting module in now. This will create a very nice mood for the game.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I have a general outline of how I want the story to start, what the conflict should be, and a very, VERY rough general idea of how the plot should progress. I also tried to implement everything you seemed to want in the story but I haven't started on an ending. I also know what I want the prime villain to be outside of Galaxia, but I'm unsure of how to make her progress passed the setup to the story. I have notes all over the place on my desktop and I'm going to put them together into something coherent to start things off.

However, I've had to get things sorted out with my paycheck, came down with a 48 hour bug that I just recovered from, and have a few errands to run today. So I think I might PM you the details later and see if you like it enough for me to start filling in the blanks. I will say that you mentioning basing this thing on another character opened a lot of doors for me to get some better ideas going, so thanks on that.

Ok, I need you to setup/pm me your GMAIL address and I am going to hook you into the project docs. We have something setup for source and doc management.

Sorry to here that you were sick, my paychecks have been a whole level of suck for me. I find myself begging people not to turn off my utilities and take the car. But that is life I suppose lol.

Ok, got a start on the side view battle system. NOT EVEN CLOSE TO DONE GUYS! This video is jumpy and there are attack animation.

Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I uploaded a very base backstory basically serving as a Prologue that I'm still working on. I also have four main characters in mind for the game aside from occasional team-ups with the Senshi. I'll upload those soon. I'm not done yet tonight.

I had to take a small break from trying to piece this idea together after I did a little bit more research and discovered that the idea I had for the main villain was impossible in the Anime continuity. I had intended Chaos to merge with Queen Metalia but I got my Manga and Anime mixed up and thought that Metalia was merely sealed instead of destroyed completely. So that has set me back a little bit.

Another thing that I'm trying to piece together how to progress once the Stars split occurs. I have a basic idea of what I want to do but I have no idea of how to go about it, and how to conclude it. And I only have a vague definition of the goal as well.

So as I've said, I'm not done yet tonight. I'll put a little more up later. I'll work a bit on four of the characters (two familiar faces and two new characters) but since I'm not involved with the graphics, perhaps you or someone else can play character designer. And I'll put more of the basic story up leading to the Stars split.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
I uploaded a few character profiles and attached a little more to the prologue at the end of it. I'm sorry it's taking so long to come up with the basics. I might work a bit more on the premise of the story and then go to bed.

If you have anything you'd like me to add or omit SDecember, hit up my e-mail. I think I'm going to need a little bit of help putting this thing together anyway.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
Hey, no problem man. No rush on anything believe me, real life sucks most of the time. I am a professional character developer and we have a professional artist taking care of anything we need. I will be helping with the writing as much as I can. We can make something pretty awesome out of this.

What do you think of my idea to make the game centralized around another character and have him/her act with and maybe against the Sailor Senshi from time to time?
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I'm way, WAY ahead of you on that idea. In fact, one of the two new characters I based off of a character I hadn't had a chance to develop on Meatballhead's RPG by the name of Lewis Carter. He was a police officer in Crystal Tokyo that was going to eventually get corrupted by Nephrite and turn on the Senshi.

This male lead isn't going to be quite as disturbed as Lewis was going to be, though. But I can see him getting antagonized by the Outers, for instance.

But having the new characters turn against their allies would really be pointless as I have it written now since everyone is in the same boat. But I did specifically mention another character in the plot summery for a reason. I think I'll have him become the main villain.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
I love the idea, but I really want to stay away from any stories already in existence. We are going to go off tangent here and I want to do something very original.

So any writing is awesome as long as it is 100% new and original, well besides basic Stars concepts of course lol.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
Ok, I have something in the "Story Line Breakdown" sheet that has info on the main character. Care to expand? I think it is a rather good idea and explains:

1. How he became a Senshi.
2. How he knows so much.
3. His separation from the rest of the world and his involved interaction in cases involving the Sailor Senshi.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
Well, the story I was getting to is not something I've read anywhere. But then again, I don't read fanfics or play fan games so if someone did what I put down, I sure don't know of it.

I honestly don't know where you're going or where you want me to go. I'd like to chat with you at some point if you don't mind.

I will say that I don't like the idea of some "Joe Shmoe" coming across a Transformation Pen.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
Not a Joe Shmoe. Someone from the background of Sailor Moon, someone who would have made a good character if given the chance. Dunno who that would be but somewhere down the line they became a cop. Best I could come up with there.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I think the start of that story is awesome but I have a few ideas of how to twist it a bit. I am open to changes. Like I said, I am just making this for fun, it is not a way for me to make fan fiction or anything so I am open to everything.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
Alright, our artist is sick and I am working on what we need sprite and tile-set wise. I have a feeling this game will be pretty neat when we get done.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
"1. How he became a Senshi.
2. How he knows so much.
3. His separation from the rest of the world and his involved interaction in cases involving the Sailor Senshi."

I want to make a comment that Takeuchi-sensei has stated that senshi should not be male.

She hated the fact that in the anime the starlights were made as males, in the manga they were all female all the time.
If you want to stay true to the creator's intent then you should have any senshi figures be female.

BTW regarding collaboration system sign up for a sourceforge account

that is all.
I solemnly swear I am up to no good.

It was just a goofy idea I threw out there. You are 100% on that. Magnus has a good handle on it, he is reining me in LOL!

I will be setting up a source forge once we get deeper into Alpha.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I've had a rough work week and haven't been all that motivated to write all that much in my free time. Truth be told, I haven't done a whole lot as of yet. But I have been brainstorming on and off more on the back story on some of the new main characters as well as the situation everyone will be thrust into.

I have a better handle on who the new villain should be even though this is my third crack at the villain. But I still don't have a complete grasp of what the villain's motives are yet.

To address Fireborn's concern, the male lead is NOT a sailor senshi, though he is almost on par with one. There is also a female lead with him with similar powers. I'm thinking up more of these "warriors" as I go but some of them are just going to be one shots that will be killed off not long after introduction. And I'm still working on their various roles assuming that I leave most of them in.

As for the relation to Stars, I've concluded that I would rather only have around the last half of the story to take place during that point and time. The reason behind that is that the structure of story telling in Sailor Moon doesn't lead itself very well to a game at all. And I want the characters and the plot to progress smoothly to appropriately "lead up" to the events in Stars. I also want to chance to develop the setting(s) in which the curtain has been raised. Which is something Sailor Moon is always sucked at doing. The Silver Millennium, Crystal Tokyo, Kinmoku, none of these feel like real places because the only thing that's established about them is their destruction. And even that is presented quite vaguely.

Though I want to be clear that I'm not side storying Stars so much as I'm changing it's course. I might do some actual work on the story tonight. I'm probably going to change some things that I had already put up in my Plot Summery on Google Docs since I realized that a few of my ideas won't really work. But I'll see what other things come to mind when I actually start putting fingers to keyboard again. I don't want to say too much on a public forum, but if anybody on here wants to learn more about what I'm doing with the story and would like to help out, I personally see no problem with it. I'm always open to ideas.

Hey, take your time man. Real life takes over this by a LONG way. I have been slacking due to excessive work this week myself.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I know it has been a little bit since the last update. But we are on to making tile sets for the generic stuff. Crystal Tokyo the Characters and things of that nature. This takes a while.

I'm sick again and I'm starting to wonder if there's something seriously wrong with me. Getting sick twice with in two weeks is not a good sign.

I'm also a little bit curious as to what you're planning on doing about sound effects/music.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
Ah! No good! I was sick for a good while myself. I had an infection due to a long term case of Mono I did not know about. Head to the hospital.

As far as sound effects and music. A while back I downloaded all the SM sound effect and backtrack CDs from the original series. My friends are musicians and they are going to remaster most of it and create a couple of new songs including a remix of the title.

Alright, releasing new screens of the game this weekend. Things are moving along very well!
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
It figures that I'd get struck with new inspiration on the day that I'm to start a new work week.

I'm still working on some details so I'm not e-mailing this to SDecember on GoogleDocs quite yet. I will say that I'm overhauling a good deal of what I had planned origanally since not only could I not make it work well, but it wasn't quite in the proper spirit of Sailor Moon on a whole.

But I'm taking a fourth crack at the villain, of which I'm the happiest with thus far. I'm changing the backstory of the new warriors quite a bit. I also have proper roles for the Guardian Senshi and Outer Senshi up until the Stars transition.

Since SDecember leaked Crystal Tokyo on here, I might as well leak that Nemesis is going to play a role as an ally. The new warriors are from there. I won't spill any other details on here at this time. But I've had problems on creating this world a bit trying to describe its relationship with the Earth and creating a proper backstory to what happened to its people after R.

I've tossed quite a bit of ideas around with Nemesis and I've come to a conclusion that I believe players will be the happiest with. As for how the Stars series is going to play a role seeings how the setting is taking place in the future, well...you'll have to wait and see.

SDecember, I'll give you more details via e-mail sometime later. I'm finally going to start on the actual story and get some dialog written fairly soon. I'm working on how the introduce the main characters in a way that isn't intrusive to the origanal cast. Simply put, I don't want the spotlight on them at all times so I'm working on transitioning between characters back and forth a little bit without things getting too hectic.

I'd also like to point out that none of this is quite set in stone. Things can always change.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
That sounds wonderful and I can not wait to see it. We will not leak anything vital. I have to be careful with the sprite sets too. People would LOVE to get their hands on those.

GAH! I have no internet at home. Could not pay the bill so there will be little to few updates. I can only hop online here and there whilst at work.

I have reached the limit of the current game creation engine. It is a halting limit and we may be moving over to XNA. This is familiar territory for me and would only set us back a couple of weeks. But I am hesitant. I am going to try like hell to work out the limits of the current engine.

GOOD NEWS: If we DO decide to switch, I will make this port to the XBOX 360.

Hahaha. Is there even a development system for the Dreamcast? It will work on the PC too. That is the pure awesomeness of XNA.

Dude, the dreamcast gets tons of homebrew games to this day. And third party developers will still make games for it to. Some guy made a "streets of rage" clone based off of sailor v awhile back.

Haha. I love those kinda people. They speak to my heart.

I don't know if your game is sprite based or 3d based or what... but I just ran across SM sprite pages and midis in my archive. Thought you might want them even if just for the lulz.

midis

sprites

I know I have piano sheet music and some other weird stuff floating around on old CDs or elsewhere. BTW some of the SM audio CDs have sound effects clips on them straight from the show which could be useful.

Hey Thanks! Any resources are much appreciated. Actually, we have moved to a similar art style to a 3d engine. Reason being, we wanted to move out of the FF3 style of combat and into a more Secret of Mana / Evemore style of combat.

Not 100% how that is going to feel but worth a try. The reason we moved to 3d was freedom. We can have simple shadows and one animation encompasses all angles.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
One of my friends brought me to the light. We are going to rough out some 3d models, Oki Doki style with cartoon shaders. We will not be using textures but rather cartoon shaders and bumpmaps to cut down on production time.

If we do this right, when Magus gets what he wants for the opening done, we should be able to rough that out and get the combat system done in a month.

This new approach will make an almost professional style game with minimal work. This is going to be an undertaking for which I will get very little sleep.

Going to get the basic movement system done tonight!

Ok, we are going to use the UDK development system. I went to college for it and will suit our game the best. The built in BSP level editor will speed our production up 10x.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
Alright, it is GO time. Lets see what we can accomplish by the end of next month. You know, between all of us working 60 hour weeks or better lol.

Magus if you have some time I need you to focus on the first chapter of the story if ya can. Does not need to be perfect but I need to know how to bang out at least a rough first scene. I know you are working like hell so it is just whenever you have the time.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I'm going to hammer out some material tonight. I've been going through some personal problems so I haven't been motivated to do a whole lot. But I have a few more notes laying around the desktop and I have a very good idea on how I want to start things off. I just have problems on how to progress after the initial chaos ensues.

Likely half of the first chapter will be on Nemesis and the other half will be in Crystal Tokyo. I'm likely going to write it in a way that the player can be introduced to the characters a little bit by getting some "training" done.

So yeah, I'm going to put on some Black Sabbath and have some fried chicken tenders and Mountain Dew on hand, and I'm going to churn this thing out. (That didn't sound right.)
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
I have been there. Screenshots coming tonight of the basic lighting system. I am thinking a top down Zelda view.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I'm just starting now. I plan on leaving out things such as detailed descriptions of the appearence of the characters and putting in rough details of the environment for now. I figured that'd be the jobs of the character and map designers. Though if you want my input on those, I'll give better descriptions.

I'm just trying to get the plot started and dialog put into place. I'm starting on the Nemesis half first before I move to Crystal Tokyo. But I'm planning on slipping in a few familiars if I can make them work.

I'm leaving AIM on right now if you want to hit me up.

EDIT: By the by, if this is going to be a 3D game, why not have a 3rd person back perspective? Actually, I'd like to know how your game is going to look so that I know better the limitations you have to work with. I'd be kind of a waste if I'm going to be writing scenes that you won't be able to implement for whatever reason.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
I just wrote up a couple of new characters even though they are both going to have minor roles. I'm still working on the Nemesis introduction.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
Well, the beautiful thing is, we can adjust the view as needed. I did some testing and the best perspective might be a Baudlers Gate view. Dunno. What do you think is appropriate for a Sailor Moon RPG?
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
Well, it really depends on what you're able to pull off. Personally, I think that something that looks like Skies of Arcadia would be the most appropriate. But I realize that would likely take a whole lot more work then what you have planned.

If you haven't played the game before, here's what it looks like.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mu8C_d4CwfM

The thing is, if you've played this game before, you'd notice that a lot of the work went into those attack animations but not the cut scenes. They relied on simple character animations, facial expressions, and sound bytes to get the job done. And it worked rather well. But the emphasis on some of the Special Techs in the game just screamed Sailor Moon to me when I first picked this game up so many years ago.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
I put profiles up for two more minor characters and I'm still working on getting the first half of Chapter 1 done. I probably won't finish it tonight.
signature image Some things can't be unseen.
That is super doable man. Allot easier than what I had in mind. But yeah, that is awesome. Good find.
Life is like an orange, it is small, round and has a few pips in it... Oh, and some have half of one for breakfast.
I wrote up another character but I haven't done any more work on the chapter itself tonight. I'm going to fill in some holes to include some of the new characters I wrote up and then I'll start progression again. But I'm really not into it right now. That and I need to decide and write up something for the "commander" and that's a small part of the hold up.

I'm also trying to decide when I want the first attack to take place. I was so busy trying to develop the new characters and get them situated as well as getting the old cast reintroduced that I hadn't put much thought into when the sh** hits the fan.

I will say that I have plans for early introductions for three of the Senshi before the focus shifts to Crystal Tokyo, though I won't say on here which ones. I'm also having doubts about my main villains again. I really don't want to draw up a fifth plan for a main villain and underlings.

I'm not going to say when anything will get done but what I can say is that I'm making small progress. Though it is a lot smaller then what I would like since I keep backtracking constantly and rewritting. I've got to learn to be happy and move on, but it's so damn hard.

As of now I have seven Nemesian warriors wrote up. Bare in mind that not all of them are going to play a major role. In fact, I only have two (maybe three) of them planned to have a major role in the story. I really don't think it would hurt to list the names off though I'll leave the profiles secret for now. But maybe you guys can tell me what you think of the names.

They re-possessed my car. I got it back in a time when I was with a lovely gal, she stabbed me in the back and cheated on me and left very abruptly after 8 years. I even forgave her for cheating on me. That is neither here nor there.

Long story short, she was contributing around $550 a month to rent which allowed me to afford the car, insurance, ect.

So my step dad, being super nice, lent me the money to buy his recently departed dads 1987 Dodge Dakota. It is in GREAT shape BUT still had a couple problems. So the ENTIRE weekend was spent working on that truck to get it running. I need a vehicle asap if you know what I mean.

Just keeping everyone informed. Things are hectic right now I am moving but I am making slow progress. The story line is looking GREAT by the way Magus.

Sorry to hear about your situation. When it rains, it always seems to pour.

As for me, I seem to get out of bed to save my life last night. I'm going to see an old friend tonight. So that just leaves tomorrow night for me to get anything done. After that, I've got a ton of overtime that I'm picking up over the next couple of weeks due to it busying one of the busy seasons I have at work.

In short, I'll get what I can done. But don't expect a massive amount of material from me on my next update when I polish it up enough to where it's uploadable.

I have the heart of the engine done, but same here. I am right in the middle of moving! Crazy!

Good news! The apartment I am getting is a few hundred cheaper! I can afford a new development machine. Increased productivity GO!

The story line is progressing nicely and I like the character layout. On July 28th I will release some alpha outs of the camera system and lighting. I need input on the viewport and how the camera is behaving. Anyone up to it? Magus?

The models are crude, very crude. So be gentle. Use them more as a size management.

I wouldn't mind seeing them but I'm not sure how much input I could give. I expect the models to be crude this early on. I'm personally quite interested in any environments as well as the models you might have done or started. Seeing the limitations of what can be done kind of makes the difference in how I would write certain scenes.

For example, I could have a cutscene were Cristo takes someone off guard. I can see him doing at least a couple of things depending on what you're capable of. I could have him do something cool like grabbing the victim by the head and slamming it to the ground Iori Yagami style, for instance. Or I could have him do something simple like blasting the victim from a distance.

Also knowing the size and intricacy of your environments would help how I could plan certain things out within the scope of the game. So really, my interest in what you got so far isn't to judge how good or bad it is, but mainly to see what I can and can't do.

I'm also confused with your comments involving the story. Unless you or someone has been picking up my slack, I still only have about one quarter of the first chapter (kinda, sorta) done. The rest of everything else I have written are notes and outlines I have to progress the plot. And the last update I sent you was about a week ago.

What I'm working on loosely right now is the transition to Crystal Tokyo and the training mission in the game. The transition I'm fine tuning and I'll fill in more content before then once it comes to me. But I kind of ran into a road block with the training mission.

I'm also starting to brainstorm up how our main heroine in Crystal Tokyo is not only going to be introduced, but what she does in general. And that's kicking my ass a little bit as well. I wouldn't mind a few ideas pitched if you got them, SDecember (you know the one I'm talking about).

But any kind of brainstorming aside, nothing is getting done on my end for a week and a half at least unless for some strange reason I can't sleep. I'm running late already typing this up so I'll end it here.

Like I said before, no pressure. Real life comes way way way before this stuff. I will push as many scene types as possible into the demo. From terrain to inside. All kinds of lighting and the basic layout of size units.

I like the work you have done so far, I will see what ideas I can pitch.

Good news again. A friend of mine had some decent PC parts lying about and the rest cost me just a little over $100 to order.

Now I can pan the BSP brush without it jumping everywhere!

We have the initial layout and engine work finished with Unity3D, after much MUCH discussion we have a working engine. I had to scale back features and the general game concept is allot more compact.

It was either story or features guys and I will not the let the story suffer.

One of the things that came into my head recently is to give the player the option to give the characters civilian names. I had been racking my brain what alternate names to give the main characters for the second arc of the story until the idea just smacked me in the head. And it would not be very hard to implement from my end because I still can call them by their proper names in the dialog/narration (and in all the voice acted bits), and just put in a "Civilian" tag in the dialog for any of the NPC that would not know who your characters are.

And so as not to ruin it for players who are obviously not keeping any kind of eye on this board, the option to name your characters would not come up until it would be actually necessary. Which would mean that certain party members (like Thaum, for instance) would never get the option because she would not be in your party long enough for it to matter. And as such if the option does not come up until it is needed, it would not let on to who is a temporary party member and who would be sticking around.

That is actually a really good idea. That will be stickied into the development blog.

I am having a hard time doing better than the supplied sky-dome. This thing is customizable to the dot on the i's. Here is a quick screen grab.

[Not letting me post html code.]

Should we just save ourselves the work on this and just customize? We can literally change the box-shade, ray effects, put other planets in the sky ect.
